Position Summary 

The individual in this position will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for upper level mathematics.  Applicants will be able to develop, implement curriculum, and manage a classroom available for all students grades 9-12 in the district. Works well with other mathematics team members and staff.  An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.   

Minimum Qualifications

  • Oklahoma teaching certification in Intermediate and Advanced Mathematics.

  • Experience in the role of a mathematics instructor is preferred.

  • Experience at the Secondary level is preferred.

  • Demonstrated success working with and through people at all levels of the organization in establishing goals, objectives, and action plans to produce expected results.

  • Ability to be flexible and open to change.

  • Possess a good-natured demeanor willing to cooperate  with students, administrators, staff, and parents

  • Positive communication skills are a must.

Must be able to successfully perform the following essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation

Planning

  • Coordinate assignment requests for students unable to attend school

  • Work with counselor and virtual director to help Facilitate the process for online, home-based, and Alternative education supplications

  • Serve on advisory boards as requested

  • Other duties assigned by the principal or designee

Communication

  • Demonstrates proven skills in all written, electronic and verbal communication and maintain communication through written and verbal contacts with parents and students

  • Communicate with students, parents, teachers and other staff members for the betterment of the school. 

  • Collaborate with administration and faculty to address student behavioral issues


Professional Development

  • Works with the Instructional Team to recommend and maintain annual Professional Development needed for the mathematics department

Regulations and Policies

  • Ensures compliance to all U.S. and State Department of Education rules and regulations 

  • Ensures compliance to all Board policies 

Critical Thinking Skills

  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions 

  • Establishes key metrics and measures of department performance in the achievement of the district’s goals 

  • Possesses knowledge of sound principles and techniques of classroom instruction, organization, and management to include an in-depth understanding of the key needs and standards that exist in K-12 Mathematics education

  • Possesses knowledge of and demonstrate a variety strategic methods for instruction,
